Went for dinner last night to a small restaurant in Gloucester called “The Comfy Pew”.
I opted for the Roasted tomato and balsamic salad with warm goats cheese tart. Main course was Herefordshire bull served with haggis and black pudding mash and buttered spinach. For desert I greatly enjoyed Ovenbaked rice pudding with damson jelly. Yummy!
This was of course washed down with a few glasses of a rather nice Cabernet Sauvignon (the name of which escapes me).
Anyway, top marks to The Comfy Pew for their delicious food. I will be returning!

Look over there on the left…
I’ve launched a competition to win a pasty.
It’s a top prize, I know. I can barely believe it myself, but there you go.
So if you would like a chance to dine on the finest pasty I can find when I go to buy the prize go and enter!

My brother in law (who lives in California) was visiting at the weekend. He brought a CD with some images of his Ford GPW Jeep restoration.

I’ve made a small gallery of some of the images. I’ll try and get some more specs and info about the Jeep and I’ll get him to send me some more pics when it’s finished.
Apologies if the page displays oddly, the CSS gallery script is still work in progress!

Some bad news for whoever has a mobile with the number +4479763021453.
They left the following message on my mobile
“Hi mam wil u put sum food on 4 me can i av sum burgers plz i wil b ome in 20 minz Luv u thanx”
Please note the following points:
- I am certainly not “ur mam”
- You need to learn to dial a phone number accurately
- Lrn 2 typ n englsh, itz betta 4 u
- Sorry you didn’t get any dinner
Still, it happens to us all and I am only posting here as it made me laugh when I turned my phone on this morning… and not much else exciting happened to me this weekend.

So the latest space probe returns to Earth and slams into the Utah Salt Flats destroying the collected data.
It seemed a bit of an outlandish solution… “catching” a falling space craft.
It reminded me of “Catch the Pigeon”
hmmm.
My sources at NASA have revealed to me that for the next mission the vehicle will be an old Model T Ford with a klaxon type horn. The doors, bonnet and boot lid will fall off when the second stage is deployed.
The craft will be piloted by “Coco” and “Binky”, with the rest of the crew being made up of “The Marvelous Mancini Brothers”, Toto the chimp and “The Amazing Waldo”.
Experiments will be carried out into the behaviour of custard pies and buckets of confetti in space.
There is also a space walk planned during which Coco will test NASA’s new “Big floppy space boots”.
The whole thing will be fired into space from a giant cannon.
To prevent further instances as the one recently experienced, a giant safety net will be erected in Utah.
Roll up, roll up.
